Notifications

The Notification service is used to inform other users about what has happened during collaboration process. Currently there is only onetype of notification implemented, that is the File Notification. There are two web pages for Notification, Notification Settings and Notifications.

Notification Types

There are 6 types of notifications, and each type is for a specific area.

Notification Methods

There are two methods to deliver the notifications:

• Email – The Notification is sent to the recipients by email, notifying them even when not actively logged into the database.
• Internal – The Notification is saved to database and the recipients can view the Notifications on the Notifications page.

Notification Settings

The Notification Settings page is where automatic notifications can be managed. Currently the only type of notification is the File Notification, which can be set up by the user for a particular file type. When a new file of the preferred type is added to the system, the related users will be notified. Here are the steps to manage these settings:

• From the Home Page, on the top menu bar select Notifications → Settings.
• Click the Add New button to open the Notification Settings page.
• Fill in the necessary information.
• Please note there is only one option for Notification Type and Recipient Type. This will be extended in the future.
• Click the Save button to save the setting.
